Friday marks the start of college baseball season, and eight teams from around the country open play this weekend at the Hoover Met Complex, starting Friday at 1 p.m.

The Ballparks of America complex in Branson, Missouri, which features several two-third replicas of Major League Ballparks from years past and present, will be managed by Sports Facilities Management under a new agreement that was reached recently.

SFM has promoted Myrtle Beach Sports Center General Manager, Jessica Vanco, to National Account Executive. Vanco joined SFM prior to the Sports Center opening in 2015, Under Vanco’s leadership, the Myrtle Beach Sports Center has outperformed economic impact and net revenue projections each year.

If a child is interested in playing baseball, the pricier club and travel teams may be one of the few options, said Dev Pathik, founder and chief executive of the Sports Facility Advisory, a sports and entertainment center management consultant company.
